Karlee's in 7th Grade!

Karlee mowed our lawn all summer long to earn money for school clothes.  The funny part was that she had forgotten that was why she was mowing.  She thought it was just one of her chores.  We also give her money to pick up the dog poop, and she uses that for play money.  She thought that was the money she had to use for school clothes.  So when it came time to go shopping, she didn't think she was going to be able to get very much.

So she was pleasantly surprised when I reminded her that I had been saving the lawn mowing money for school clothes.  Shay and Grandma Terry went with us.  This is really the first year that she has gone to pick out her own clothes.  Normally I just buy them and bring them home.  But that gets to be a pain when they don't fit.  I hate going back.  And she is definitely getting her own opinion about what she likes.  She is like me in that she really doesn't like shopping.  So it is not the funnest outing.  But she found a few cute outfits to get her started.

Karlee is enjoying school so far.  She loves her "Exploring Creativity" class.  This is a perfect fit for her.  Karlee is very creative.  They get to learn to play guitar.  She seems really excited about it.  We told her if she sticks to it, she might be able to take lessons.  But that she still had to do piano lessons.  That kind of dampened the enthusiasm.  So we will see...
