Layne had the opportunity to go to Montana with some friends to hunt a white tail buck. The got a land owner permit and spent three days up there.
This is the first white tail buck Layne has ever shot. He is going to work with our neighbor who is a taxidermist to mount it himself.
Layne took his brother, Daren, with him. Daren didn't hunt, but they had a great time together.
Daren, Layne and Ty, the taxidermist neighbor who had the Montana landowner connection.
Layne, Conley, Daren and Ty. Conley is Ty's son. He is a pretty lucky twelve year old. This year alone he has shot an elk, antelope, and deer!
Tanner drew for a late buck hunt and he ended up getting his mule deer here at home, within an hour of the time Layne got his in Montana. It must have been a lucky day!
Tanner's buck
Tanner and his friend have been "liberating" a few fish from the canals before they froze. I won't say how they did it because I am not sure it is exactly legal...
Tanner used some of his harvest money to buy a duck call and some weighters on Black Friday. He blew on the duck call so much the first day that his lips were raw. Yes, that is a a dead duck in my house!
Tanner and his good friend Keegan have had fun going duck hunting and "fishing" in the canal.
Here is their "mess" of muskrats
This boy is happiest with a gun in his hand. If you could live in the mountains, riding bikes and shooting guns he would be in heaven.
