We celebrated Grandma Terry's 71st birthday on November 30th at our house with the Munns family. We just had some taco soup and I made her a banana birthday cake.
She is pretty cute and stylin' for a great-grandma!
We added the animals to the rock nativity that we gave her last year. Our kids are very lucky to have their grandma so close. She is a lifesaver whenever they need them. She runs Karlee to the orthodontist and saves the day when she calls home from school feeling sick. She has rescued Tanner from school when he lost his driving privileges and didn't want to wait until everyone else got out of school, since he has senior release for his last hour. And when he ran out of gas another day she brought him what was left in her gas can, and it was enough to get him home.
We enjoy having her in our home several nights a week for dinner and she takes good care of us in many ways.
Grandma Romrell's birthday is just a few weeks later on December 11th. My mom turned 91 this year. I guess I just realized that she and Verla are exactly 20 years apart.
We had our traditional dinner at my sister, Karleen's house. It is always nice to have a quiet dinner with just my siblings and their spouses. We get to catch up on what is going on in everyone's lives and visit which we don't get to do often enough.
When we sang "Happy Birthday" to my mom she chimed in on the last line and sang it in harmony, which made us all small and brought a tear to our eyes. My mom has a lovely voice and has enjoyed singing harmonies all her life. I just wish we could hear it more.
