This is the first year that Karlee decided to play basketball. It was definitely a building year for her team. I think only one of the girls had ever played before. But they definitely improved throughout the season. One week after a loss Karlee told me she didn't want to play next year. I told her to wait and see how she felt then. The next week she made like five baskets and said she was definitely playing again next year. She definitely has the height she needs compared to the other girls her age. We hope that she keeps getting taller and that this isn't just an early growth spurt. She is great at blocking and rebounding. And on the last game she scored the only two baskets for her team. Of course the last game had to be with the best team. So her brothers are excited that she has decided to take the sports route instead of the cheerleading route. At least that is her plan for now. We will see what the next few years bring. We just signed her up for softball. I hope she will get a chance to pitch this year.Friday, March 18, 2011
