Miss Idaho Falls

It turns out the August 5th is a pretty lucky day for our family. This year is my parents 66th wedding anniversary. My nephew Hyrum and his wife Monica are celebrating their 10th anniversary. And my niece, Kelsie, was crowned Miss Idaho Falls!

What a fun night! Amy bought a block of tickets right in the center near the front. We were right in front of and behind the judges. There was no mistaking who had the biggest cheering section. She did so well and was so beautiful. Her platform is to help beat childhood obesity. She definitely is a good example. She looked fantastic in her swimsuit and when she showed off the muscles in her arms and legs a couple of the judges even said out loud, "Wow!" Taking Garth's push up challenge really paid off.

Kelsie performed a tarantella piece on the piano and really won the audience when she ended by looking at the audience and giving a mischievous smile and a wink.

It is always so fun to cheer for the winner. We are lucky to have her in our family. It is kind of funny that five years ago when her mom, Amy, married my brother Garth she hated the idea of moving to Idaho Falls. And now in her words, she's "representing." We are so proud of her.
