Annual Arizona Trip

This year Layne and I went alone for our annual trip to Mesa to prune the fruit trees. We flew down, which made it nice. But it was a really quick trip since Allegiant only flies on Thursdays and Sundays So we flew out Thursday morning, and returned Sunday morning. I was even home in time to teach my lesson in Relief Society that day.

When we got into Mesa the car rental salesman did a good job and up sold us into a silver Camero convertible. It was worth the $15 extra to see the smile on Layne's face for the entire trip. He was like a kid in a candy store.

Layne did actually let me drive it a few times. But we never got a picture of it. They day we got there we drove up through the hills and went to Tortilla Flats and Lake Roosevelt. Layne had a lot of fun on the curves.

Layne and I spent most of Friday pruning the trees and hauling off all of the trimmings.

We got smart this year though and rented a truck from Home Depot. We didn't think we should desecrate the Camero with all of the trimmings.

We had a great visit with my nephew, Adam, who is staying at the house since he got a job as a P.A. in Phoenix. We went out to dinner with him and his girlfriend, Amie, and then out to a movie. The weather was a comfortable 70 degrees while we were there. Of course the day we left it was going to be 80 degrees. Next year since Layne will have more vacation time we are hoping to spend a little more time in beautiful Leisure World.
