Christmas Parties

'Tis the season for parties, parties, parties, and food, food food! On the 23rd we had a party at the Wilding's. Jeannette made some yummy broccoli cheddar soup and there were all kinds of goodies to go along with it.

Everyone brought a $1 gift that represented a story from their life. We drew names and when you picked the gift you had to try and decide who it represented. Then that person told their story. It was fun to get to hear some of these stories and to laugh and reminisce about how some people remembered the stories differently.

This family is quite lucky to have two sets of great grandparents that are still in good health and we are still able to enjoy their company for these family gatherings.

After the $1 gift game Zak got everyone started with this back cracking experiment. One person person puts their butt at the base of the other person's back and then stands up. I guess it pops the back all the way up. I did not participate however... This is Jana and Theresa. Jeannette had to help Theresa get into position.

Tanner did it to just about everyone else. Here is Frank. It was a pretty funny sight to see.

On Christmas Eve the Terry family always gets together and goes to a show. This year we split up and some of us went to Sherlock Holmes, Mission Impossible and The Chipmunks Chipwrecked.

Afterwards we gathered at our house for soup and tons of good food. Oh my, we will be glad when this season is past!

All the siblings pitched in and got Verla a new mothers ring. She had one years ago but it was stolen.
Verla gave each of the families a copy of the digital scrapbook that Leisa had made for Laren & Verla's 50th anniversary. She also gave us copies of the video that was taken at Laren's 70th birthday where he answered questions and told stories about his life. These will both be treasures.

The rest of the evening was spent playing games and eating food. We are lucky to have such a great family to be a part of.
